Our founder

Bare Blue was founded by Niamh O'Sullivan, a qualified beauty therapist with a minimalist approach to life. In October 2020 she decided to twin her training with her passion and start an eco-friendly online store, selling and promoting an alternative approach to personal care. 

"When I became more aware of the great need to shift to an eco-friendly world, I was surprised by how easy it was to make this my way of life. The benefits, on a personal level, have been huge. That's when I decided to share this with as many people as possible." 

Niamh obtained a CIBTAC diploma in Beauty Therapy and Facial Electrical Treatments in 2015 and over the past few years she has built on that base to become an expert in all things sustainable and eco-friendly, from a personal care perspective. It is this specialization that she channels back into Bare Blue on a daily basis when sourcing and testing products on behalf of her customers. 

For those who are new to this lifestyle, Niamh is an email or a phone call away and provides a one-on-one customer support service to help you choose and understand the best products for you. "I really look forward to helping you make the switch. You will not look back. And that’s a pretty promise”. 

(Did you know that, according to Irish mythology, Niamh was the daughter of the God of the Sea and she was also one of the Queens of ‘Tir na nOg’, that beautiful Irish phrase for ‘The land of eternal youth’).

 

 

 

The way we work

Sustainable sourcing: We only source products that use sustainable ingredients and materials (including their packaging!).

Bare essentials: Bare Blue offers a curated selection of cosmetics and personal care products, the kinds of items you pop into your trolley every week: think moisturizers, cleansers, body wash, shampoo, shaving cream, toothbrushes, toothpaste, cleanser.

Natural ingredients: Our entire range is made with natural ingredients and all that we sell is free of toxins, ensuring they are as kind as can be to both you and our planet. This also allows us to offer a range that is suitable for all skin types and sensitivities.

Cruelty free: Our brand boasts cruelty-free products, while a large section of our range is also vegan friendly. 

Support Irish: You will find our shop is heavily stocked with Irish-made goods, the majority of them handmade and produced by small businesses just like us. So each time you buy from Bare Blue, you are supporting other Irish companies along the value chain.

Packaging promise: We stock products with minimal or no packaging at all, and we only work with suppliers who wrap their wares in compostable or recyclable packaging. We ship all your orders plastic free, we even use paper packing tape! Our boxes are fully recyclable (but we would love you to reuse them first!). 

Education: As you improve your eco footprint, or take the steps towards a more sustainable lifestyle, we will enable you and educate you along the way with informative content across our website and social media channels. You can expect to see regular videos and posts showing you how best to use our products and why they are a kinder choice for you and our planet.
